कण्वाश्रम को पर्यटन स्थल के रूप मे विकसित करने का शिलान्यास प्रदेश के पर्यटन तथा वन मंत्री ने १७ दिसम्बर २०१८ को कण्वाश्रम मे किया। शिलान्यास के सम्बन्ध मे जो विज्ञप्ति १५ दिसम्बर को अमर उजाला मे जारी गयी थी उसमें स्थान नही लिखा गया था। इस के कारण जिन अधिकारियों के नाम उस विज्ञप्ति मे थे वो भी इस कार्यक्रम मे नही आये। जैसे ज़िलाधिकारी, सचिव पर्यटन इत्यादि। स्थानीय लोगों को भी सूचना देना का कोई प्रयत्न नही किया गया। इसलिए सभा मे ४०-५० से ज़्यादा जन नही थे। एसा प्रतीत होता है कि शिलान्यास किसी मजबूरी के तहत जल्दबाज़ी मे किया गया है।
इस के अलावा कार्यक्रम मे एक पुस्तिका बाँटी गयी जिस मे कण्वाश्रम के सम्बन्ध मे रूप रेखा दी जानी चाहिए थी पर उस मे ऐसा कुछ नही था। उस पुस्तिका मे इतनी त्रुटियाँ है कि समझ मे नही आता कि जो कण्वाश्रम के विकास की बात सोच रहे है उन्हें उसे हिन्दी तथा अंग्रेज़ी मे कण्वाश्रम लिखना तक नही आता। उन्हें भरत तथा भगवान श्री राम की छवी मे कोई अन्तर नज़र नही आता।
क्योंकि कण्वाश्रम के विकास के सम्बन्ध मे कार्य कराये जाने के सम्बन्ध मे कुछ नही बताया गया है कण्वाश्रम विकास समिति ने निवेदन किया है कि प्रस्तावित कार्य को सार्वजनिक कर क्रियान्वयन से पहले जन मानस की राय ली जाये। इसके तहत कण्वाश्रम विकास समिती शीघ्र सभी क्षेत्र वासिये को आमंत्रित कर एक खुली सभा का आयोजन करने का प्रस्ताव है।
To develop Kanvashram as a tourist destination, the Tourism and Forest Minister of Uttrakhand laid a foundation stone in Kanvashram. No information about the venue of the stone laying ceremony was printed on the half page advertisement which appeared in the Amar Ujala news paper of 15 Dec 2018. The names of the officials organising the event given in he avertisement did not turn up for the event eg District magistrate, Secretary Tourism etc. No information was also given to the local population. It appears that the ceremony was done in a hurry and under some sort of duress.
Besides the above, a booklet was distributed which was supposed to highlight the plan of the works to be done but surprising no such information was given in the booklet. There are number of errors in booklet. It seems that those planning the development of Kanvashram are not even aware of the spelling of Kanvashram in Hindi and English besides they cannot differentiate between the images of Emperor Bharat and Lord Shri Ram.
As no information has been provided in the meeting about the extent of work to be done in Kanvahram, the Samiti has requested to the organisers to make available the plan of work to be carried out in Kanvashramand and take suggestion from the local population. In this context Kanvashram Vikas Samiti also proposes to call a general meeting of surrounding villages
